Is it not for old men?

What is the scholarship?

If you are one of the successful applicants the Choir will pay you £150 to sing with them for one year.

What will I have to do to be chosen?

Submit your application form which you can get from your Principal Teacher of Music. You will be contacted by a member of the choir and you will be called to sing an audition song of your choice.

Alternatively – email for more details.

I don’t know if I am tenor or bass and I haven’t sung in a choir before.

It doesn’t matter. If you have a good voice you should still apply.

What are the advantages of the scholarship?

As well as paying you to do something which you enjoy, you will receive lessons in voice production and valuable experience of sight reading.

I have lots of other studies to consider- what would be the time commitment?

The Choir would expect you to attend most rehearsals on a Tuesday evening. These run from the beginning of September to the end of April. You would also be expected to sing at most of our concerts (currently 4 or 5 a session) including our Christmas and Spring Concerts in Glasgow.

What sort of music do we sing?

Everything – Songs from the Shows – Opera Choruses – Scots Songs – Part Songs – Spirituals
